Lucienne Day has got to be one of my favourite textile designers of all time. Her distinctive work is structured with abstract organic shapes and motifs to create quirky repeating surface patterns. Day's inspiration was taken from plant forms, florals, grassess, spindly structures and intricate patterns in the landscape which is evident in her unique designs. I particularly love her colour palettes of earthy natural tones including olive greens and mustards, with highlights of ochre yellow, teal blue and tangerine orange.
