I thought it was time to share another painter with you and amazingly Dana Oldfather is actually a self-taught oil painter who currently lives in Cleveland, Ohio. Dana's painting are very abstract, they make me feel like I am in a dream like world, where bursts of colour transform into floating bubbles and drifting organic shapes.
"I am drawn to the combination of sweet and dangerous, solid and ephemeral, natural and man-made, physical and architectural." Harsh geometrical lines and shapes provide stark contrast against the smooth curves, "the scene is a dance and a battle as contrasting forms converge." Dana's clever use of colour adds real depth to her paintings and the random scattering of fine lines add a sense of movement.
