Audrey Kawasaki's Flawless Feminine Portraits!

Audrey Kawasaki has a precise and technical style that shows influences from both Art Nouveau and Manga art. Audrey's illustrative paintings focus on decorative feminine portraits that look almost porcelain like due to their delicate features and flawless complexions.

From first glance the subtle, pure colours suggest the use of watercolour however Audrey expertly uses oil paints. I love the sharpness of her imagery combined with the natural surface texture and grain of the wood panels she paints on. This brings natural qualities and a quirkyness to her paintings.

I love Audrey's naturally inspired, tonal colour palettes combined with atmospheric shadows and highlights. Her work is intended to contradict itself expressing innocence combined with feminine vulnerability and sexuality.
