Today’s artist in the spotlight is Chris Kenny who creates fantastic 3D, mixed-media constructions. Chris is a British artist who studied Art History at the Courtauld Institute before exclusively exhibiting his abstract collages.
Fragments of maps, books and twigs are rearranged into unusual compositions to create complex geometric forms. Chris’s collages explore travel, transport, location and road networks by transforming and mounting flat images of the world into 3D globes by the use of small pins. I love how his work is like ‘organised chaos,’ it is presented in a precise and organised manor yet it still has an essence of mayhem. A beautiful way to capture and record the essence of a personal journey or holiday!
