John Tenniel's Adventures with Alice in Wonderland!

I am delighted to include the recognisable work of Sir John Tenniel, the talented British artist who illustrated Lewis Carroll’s famous Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. John produced 92 stunning drawings for the children's storybooks, which secured his lasting artistic fame. John's ultimate honor was being knighted in recognition of his contributions as a living national treasure.

John Tenniel's illustrations are unique and distinguishable. He geniusly gives the characters emotion and individuality, which are firmly imbedded in my childhood memories as a lover of Alice in Wonderland myself.

His illustrations were preliminary pencil drawings before being engraved into wood that were used to print the actual storybooks. John Tenniel's illustrations remained in black and white for over 40 years until eight selected prints in each book were flooded with colour by hand.

Enjoy and reminisce!
