Laura-Kate Draws Intricate Illustrations!

I first spotted the intricate illustrations of Laura-Kate when visiting a vintage market at Leaf, a quirky and independent cafe. I was instantly attracted to the colourful and fun nature of her detailed illustrations, prints and crockery. Laura-Kate describes her illustrative style as "lovingly meticulous", I certainly agree. Skillfully and seamlessly Laura-Kate builds her fine patterns and imagery to naturally flood a cross the page using a range of fine-liner pens and ink.

Laura-Kate graduated from John Moores University, Liverpool with a first class Ba (hons) in Graphic Arts. Laura-Kate explains "I am obsessional about pattern and colour within my work and I’m always looking for new pattern and colour palette ideas. I get ideas from absolutely anywhere from a pattern on a dress I’ve seen in a magazine to the colours and patterns used in a Gustav Klimt painting."

Laura beautifully weaves intricate patterns with little quirky details into her work to make people smile, including drawing circus animals playing instruments with tiny pointy shoes. I particulalry lover her decorative alphabet.
