Timorous Beasties Contemporary Wallpaper Art!

Timorous Beasties is a wallpaper and textile design company founded in 1900 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons. The talented duo met whilst studying textile design at Glasgow School of Art and interestingly named their exclusive brand after the Robert Burns poem "To a Mouse."

Timorous Beasties' create innovative and contemporary designs where surreal and uncompromising imagery contrasts with traditional prints and textiles. Inspiration originates from illustrated encyclopedias and the Scottish Highlands with many designs including illustrative insects, birds and plants. Popular repeating surface patterns include Toile de Jouy, damasks and florals which all make a modern and dramatic statement.

'Act of Union' Wallpaper
Timorous Beasties' design talent and luxury products can be found worldwide, they include wallpaper, hand-printed fabrics, lighting, furniture and glass which would add a quirky atmosphere and personality to any room. What I love about their work is its originality, how wallpapers and fabrics become pieces of art and how they pushes the boundaries of perception.
