Patrick's prints contain hand drawn illustrations of retro everyday objects that have a bold and fun graphic quality that is really refreshing. Patrick's love for typography and inspiration from packaging and pop culture is evident in his hand printed designs and limited edition prints below.

Francisa Prieto's Folded Geometrical Tillings!

I have a bit of an obsession with traditional tiles and tillings, I am forever snapping when I am away on holiday and as soon as I spotted the work of Francisa Prieto I was drawn into her geometrical creations. She skillfully cuts, creases and folds a wide range of old printed text and imagery from old book pages, music manuscript and encyclopedias to create these mathematical intresting structures.
I love the precision of Francisacs 3d designs, she clearly has a passion for the subject matter she uses and spends considerable time on each piece with immaculate attention to detail. The end result is delicate and fragile with a striking boldness and originality.

Hollie Caley's Nostalgic Tea Party!

Hollie Caley has been on my inspirational list for ages and certainly an overdue feature. Since I have given up chocolate and cupcakes for lent I felt I needed to get my sweet fix another way...

Hollie studied Textile Design at Manchester Metropolitan University and since has focussed on commissions, exhibitions and workshops spreading her creative inspiration and talent. Hollie's work is beautifully feminine,  from the subtle vintage colour palettes she explores to the the delicate cupcakes,  teapots, cake stands and lace she captures in her designs. I am intrigued to look closer at Hollie's designs as they are full of inspirational textures created by a combination of drawing, printing, machine stitch and collage. Additional trinkets and memorabilia including buttons, pearls, stamps and storybook pages add quirkiness and a distinctive nostalgic quality.

A Sprinkle of Spring by Ruth Green!

As I am sat on the sofa warm sunny rays are shining in on me, the first of the year and I thought a fresh burst of colour was well overdue on Creative Sketchbook. I was doing a spot of my usual inspiration seeking and I pleasantly found the colourful designs of Ruth Green. Ruth's work has a strong resemblance to folk art due to the bold and quirky shapes she incorporates into her screen prints. I love the retro feel to Ruth's designs and they have a strong childlike appeal.

Helen Musselwhite's Multi-Layered 3D Paper Creations!

I could not resist sharing the intricate paper cuts of Helen Musselwhite with you today. As a self confessed lover of paper cutting and naturally inspired artwork, I could look at her creations all day. "As you’ll gather from my work, a lot of my inspiration comes from the British countryside. The beauty of it never ceases to amaze me." Sourced

I particularly love the intrigue created by the multiple layers Helen creates within her work that reveal deeper detail within her designs. The use of solid colours provides vital contrast between imagery and layers and he inclusion of decorative detail and pattern adds femininity and a child like quality to Helen's designs. They would be perfect to make a statement in any room!
